StayLive – Making Complexity Work

StayLive is a national safety collaboration across New Zealand’s electricity generation sector. With multiple organisations involved and a high level of complexity, the work is ambitious, detailed and constantly evolving.

As an Expert in Residence, I support the Chair, committees and GMs from across the sector to keep the programme aligned and delivering value. My role includes:

  • Supporting strategic direction and translating it into practical progress

  • Strengthening governance and shaping collaborative ways of working

  • Designing a delivery model that functions across organisations and roles

I also lead internal delivery projects, develop core frameworks, facilitate cross-sector decision-making and support the rollout of StayLive’s national digital competency tool.

This is ongoing, high-trust work. I help the group stay aligned and moving, even when the detail is complex or priorities shift. The approach is hands-on, collaborative and built on a shared commitment that there is no IP in safety.

Working with Catie Noble through Upward was a game-changer for StayLive. She brought a calm, clear presence into a pretty complex space, quickly getting her head around our industry and the unique challenges we face.

What really stood out was how she helped bring people together, different companies, different roles, different views, and got us aligned on where we’re heading. She asked smart questions, challenged us when we needed it, and made it easy to have the right conversations.

On top of all that, she’s just a genuinely great human to work with.’
